Westmeath Enterprise Board launches 2008 Business Awards

Its that time of year again! Westmeath County Enterprise Board is inviting entries for the 2008 Westmeath County Enterprise Board Business awards.

2007 saw Kelmworth Ltd owned by Peter Curran scoop first place at the County Final - Could this be the year for your business?

The competition is sponsored nationally by the County and City Enteprise Boards and is the only competition of its type specifically for the mirco-enterprise sector. It is hosted on an annual basis to acknowledge the achievements of small enterprise and their valuable contribution to the local economy.

Christine Charlton, CEO of Westmeath County Enterprise Board is 'delighted to see local business recieve recognition and the prestige of winning this award after putting years of hard work into building up their business - it is an opportunity for Westmeath County Enterprise Board to showcase the innovation of local companies and reward their success and dedication'.

In 2003, Westmeath County winner, Grouse Lodge Recording Studio Ltd., Rosemount, won 1st place at the coveted National Enterprise Awards and proceeded to win joint first place at teh World Young Business Achievers Awards in Bulgaria in 2004 beating 15 other businesses.

 

The competition is open to Westmeath businesses who have recieved direct financial grant assistance from Westmeath County Enterprise Board. The County winner will recieve a casg pize of €1500 with the runner up, best new business and best women in business recieving €1000. The winners will be announed at a lunch time ceremony on Friday, September 12th 2008.

 

The overall County winner will advance to the regional final from which 8 finalists will be chosen by an independent panel of adjudicators to go forward to the National Enterprise Awards final scheduled for November 11th 2008 in Dublin Castle.

This year your business could be amoung Westmeath's previous winners of this coveted award.

 

Entries will be judged in accordance to marketing strengths, financial strength, innovation, use of technology, entrepreneurial skills and the business plan.
