Programme Aim

The aim of this programme is to give participants an introduction to using the internet to market, advertise and sell their products and services. This course is aimed at business people (rather than technical specialists) who want to get their business on-line or get better results from their existing web presence. The course will highlight the link between the online business and the physical store – how to build a brand that covers both and provides customers with the same type of service online as they get in store.

Introduction to Internet Marketing – great websites, ‘not so great websites’ types of advertising, types of websites.
Advertising Manage Online Ad Campaigns - good website design, key words, content management, adwords.
Improving Conversion Rates – What is conversion ? How do customers behave on the web?
ECommerce – How does it work ? Types of merchant accounts ; Selling through eBay.
Building your Brand – What makes a great brand? Defining your brand.
Defining your eBusiness strategy.

Upon completion of the programme, participants will.

  •  Understand the principles of good web design.
  •  Understand what drives a website ranking on the major search engines.
  •  Understand how online shoppers and internet users use the web.
  •  Understand what is required to transact on-line.
  •  Draft their ebusiness strategy.
  •  Define their online brand and describe how it links with their offline brand.
  •  Be confident in talking to others about how to use the internet to market their business.
  •  Marketing plan which may act as a framework for participants to work with.
