JobBridge is the new National Internship Scheme administered by FAS on behalf of the Dept of Social Protection (DSP). It will provide work experience placements for interns for a 6 month or 9 month period.
If any company is interested in applying for JobBridge please note that you must first register as a host organisation and then advertise your intern placement.
Jobseekers must be on the Live Register and in receipt of Jobseekers benefit/allowance or signing on for credits for at least 3 months. Periods spent on FAS training programmes or on WPP count in this 3 month timescale but CE scheme does not count.
Interns receive €50 “top up” from DSP with no employer top up contribution. Employers are expected to nominate an individual to support and/or mentor the intern and complete monthly compliance checks.
Applications are being accepted from July 1st 2011. For more information see www.jobbridge.ie
JobBridge is subject to interns not displacing any current employee and should not have a current vacancy in the area of activity that the internship is being offered.
