Westmeath Women in Business learn financial planning is a key discipline for future protection
The message conveyed to Westmeath Business women who attended the Westmeath County Enterprise Board women in business network meeting was the need to plan for future income provision while taking advantage of pension and investment incentives.
The seminar, entitled ‘Personal Financial Planning – What you need to Know’, the second of the 2008 series of women in business network meetings was organised by Westmeath County Enterprise Board. The event aimed to encourage female business owner/managers to step back from day to day activities and take some time to consider their future income potential, financial planning, investment methods, how to take advantage of tax incentives and how to maximise their future wealth and income.
Keynote speaker, Barbara McCormack, Senior Manager, Wealth Management with FGS Longford provided attendees with a presentation on retirement planning, protecting income and investments and savings.
Commenting after the meeting, Westmeath Enterprise Board CEO, Christine Charlton said ‘Future financial planning is vital – no one has a crystal ball to see the future however all business people need to secure their future income and take advantage of any incentives available to them’.
Westmeath County Enterprise Board runs a series of women in business events throughout the year. The next meeting will take place in September.
