Improved Use of New Technologies could save your Business time and Money!

The message conveyed to early risers who attended the Westmeath County Enterprise Board business breakfast briefing was to review their businesses use of ICT and consider alternative technologies which could help them save time and money.

The seminar, entitled ‘New Technologies and Your Business’, the fourth in a successful series of business breakfast meetings organised by Westmeath County Enterprise Board encouraged business owner/managers to step back from day to day activities and take some time to consider what technologies they use in their business and how they can use technology to improve matters.

Keynote speaker, Damien Mulley, well know Blogger, provided attendees with a presentation on making the most of available online technologies to run their business and gave tips on how to improve business efficiency and increase traffic to their websites.

Commenting on the seminar, Westmeath Enterprise Board CEO, Christine Charlton said ‘All businesses no matter what sector they operate in, need to consider the support using ICT solutions can offer their business – the efficiencies IT can offer if used effectively.  The aim of this series of business breakfast seminars run by the Enterprise Board is to give Westmeath Businesses practical information and useful tips for their businesses development - all before they go to work for the day!’

The event coincided with the launch of the Tech Check programme for 2008 by Westmeath County Enterprise Board and information on the programme was provided on the morning.

‘Tech Check’ is a national initiative, offered through the County and City Enterprise Boards, which offers a highly subsidised technology check-up to small businesses to help them identify ways to boost their productivity and profitability through the better use of technology.

Tech Check is open to all small businesses in County Westmeath, providing they have less than 50 employees.  A ‘Tech Check’ costs €150 for which an experienced, independent IT Consultant will spend a full working day, possibly spread over a couple of visits, working with the business.

If you would like more information on the Tech Check programme please contact Westmeath County Enterprise Board on 044 9349222 or log on to www.westmeath-enterprise.ie or email info@westmeath-enterprise.ie.
