Women in Business - Next Event April - Athlone

Westmeath County Enterprise Board support women in business through our dedicated Women in Business Network.    This network, made up of business owners / managers are facilitated to come together to meet and exchange views and information on being in business.

The network meet on a quarterly basis and as well as attending a business related seminar, there is an opportunity to network and meet new business contacts.   Our latest event took place on February 10th 2010 in the Park Hotel, Mullingar and will focused on the "Power of Positive Thinking".  Keynote speaker, Terry Harmer of NLC Training in Kilkenny outlined to those present the need to use the power of positive thinking to improve thier business performance.   Women were encouraged to step back from the day to day activities of their business and take some time to consider their business performance and how it could be improved.

"People buy from people and the fact is that we prefer to deal with positive people.  It makes us feel better and lifts the spirits.  You are more likely to buy more from people with the " feel good factor" than those with a negative, depressing attitude" - Terry told the listening audience.

Following Terrys address, the 30 business women present had an opportunity to network and exchange business cards - always a worthwhile experience.

The next Women in Business Event will take place on April in Athlone.  Further details will be posted on the website in due course.

If you are interested in becoming involved in the network you are welcome to register your interest by contacting Westmeath County Enterprise Board and then you will receive details of all future events.
